Peter Finnerty is a Principal in the Investment Banking Group at Sandler O’Neill + Partners, L.P. Mr. Finnerty joined the firm in July 2002 and is responsible for the Atlanta office as well as advising banks, thrifts and insurance companies on a wide range of strategic matters, focusing on mergers, acquisitions and financings primarily with companies operating in the Southeast and Southwest.

Prior to joining Sandler O’Neill, Mr. Finnerty was a Managing Director and Group Head of the Financial Institutions Group of SunTrust Robinson Humphrey. Prior to joining Robinson Humphrey in 1998, Mr. Finnerty was a senior member of the Investment Banking Group at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Securities Corporation in New York, where he worked for over 10 years advising banks and other financial institutions in a broad array of merger and acquisition transactions.
